ACQUEAU is the EUREKA Cluster for water. ACQUEAU is an ‘Industry/Business led water network’, whose ultimate aim is to facilitate the generation of market driven, pan-European collaborative water research and technological development projects for the benefit of the European Water Industry.
ACQUEAU was officially labelled by the EUREKA Programme on April 15th in Munich, Germany. ACQUEAU is an initiative led by the UK, and supported by more than 20 industries from different countries in Europe. The cluster will provide funding for applied research with an objective of 500 million Euros for 10 years. It will support the development of know-how and new technology developments for key strategic research challenges in the water sector such as water quality and quantity, low energy consumption, and water and environmental footprint.

SMEs Wanted!
ACQUEAU is actively encouraging SMEs to participate in its projects:
SMEs do not need to pay ACQUEAU membership fees to submit a proposal.
ACQUEAU also supports SMEs by:
- Acting as a facilitator to obtain national funds attributed under the EUREKA programme
- Boosting the competitiveness of SMEs through co- operation
- Providing a prestigious EUREKA Label for water innovation projects.
