 WssTP & European Technology Platforms

As part of our aim to collaborate and coordinate with other industries and sector, we welcome you to our European Technology Platforms section.

From this page, you can navigate the different ways that WssTP and the water sector interact with other sectors. From these you can particularly see the ways in which that water and other sectors work well together, currently and potentially, and develop their innovative sectors alongside one another.

In December 2011, DG Environment hosted the European Innovation Partnership event for European Technology Platform stakeholders. This event was organised in conjunction with WssTP and SusChem.

This workshop was held in Brussels. The event was targeted a large number of industries through various ETPs, to discuss existing innovative solutions relating to water and chemistry, to develop a prioritization of areas in which innovative solutions need to be developed, and identify where the activities of ETPs and their sectors and the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) on Water can support each other.

The optimal governance model for the candidate EIP was discussed. All interested ETP representatives were invited to present their ideas and views on the EIP consultation document on what they consider as priority areas where innovative solutions are needed.

WssTP declared its strong support for the creation of an EIP on water at the public consultation event held on 20th October 2011.
